Our instructors are degreed engineers who work across a broad range of applications and industries on a daily basis. Their experience with the latest metrology concepts and products enables them to understand the challenges faced in the workplace and translate their experience into training opportunities for participants. Their goal is to help clients successfully apply the most appropriate techniques to meet specific measurement challenges.

Training courses serve as a starting point for individuals with no formal background or individuals wanting to upgrade their skills. Our instructors use an interactive hands-on teaching and application-based approach designed to improve skills and competencies in measurement and related areas. This teaching approach, supported by workshops and formal instruction, enables participants to feel positive about training and actively participate in the discussions and hands-on exercises. Classes are offered at our new training facility in Topsfield, MA or on site at your location. We provide certificates of training for all participants. Our clients are typically from research laboratories, government agencies, and private industries.

3D Measuring Instruments and Metrology Software

ECM offers a range of basic and advanced courses for 3D measuring instruments and metrology software that provide formal instruction and practical sessions design to enhance the learning experience in dimensional measuring. Participants learn various types of dimensional measurement techniques and processes using the instrument correctly and with confidence. They will also be shown the tools for optimizing measurement processes, analyzing measurement results and managing measurement decision risks. Emphasis is placed on various aspects of measurement such as dimensional geometry and geometric properties as well as instruction on drawing practices and tolerance.

Reverse Engineering

Offering basic and advanced training courses, we cover the techniques and workflows involved with 3D modeling and inspection. Courses demonstrate how to achieve better results from the process of collecting the requisite 3D data and converting the data into a high resolution engineered output using the 3D software Geomagic Studio.

Various 3D measuring instruments can be incorporated into the educational curriculum.
